💡 Tip: Bento boxes are kept in the refrigerator section. They are cold — but most need to be heated before eating!
The staff will offer to heat it at the register. Just nod when they say "atatame masuka?" (温めますか?)
🔥 How To Heat Your Bento
1
Bring your bento to the register. The staff will ask "atatame masuka?" — it means "Do you want it heated?"
2
Say "Yes" or just nod. The staff will put it in the microwave for you — no extra charge!
3
Wait about 1–2 minutes. Your hot bento is ready. Chopsticks and wet napkins are near the register.
ℹ️ Self-Service Microwave: Some stores also have a microwave near the entrance for self-service.
Look for a sign that says 電子レンジ (denshi renji) — just ask at the counter if you're not sure!

❓ Quick Q&A
⏰ Is there an expiry time on bento?
Yes! Every bento has a "best before" time printed on the label (消費期限). Always check it. 7-Eleven delivers fresh bento twice a day, so you'll usually find fresh stock.
❄️ Can I eat it without heating?
You can, but warm is much better! Cold rice becomes hard and less tasty. Heating is always recommended and free at the register.
🌿 Are there vegetarian bento options?
Vegetarian options are limited at convenience stores. Most bento contain meat or fish. Look for egg-based bowls, or try onigiri (rice balls) and salads instead.
📍 Why can't I find a specific product?
7-Eleven Japan sells different products in different regions (prefectures). If you can't find a product shown here, it may not be available in your area — try another item!
